These stories include that of Judy Ruprecht, who soars above Beloit in the new episode premiering 8 p.m. Monday, July 21 on Wisconsin Public Television (WPT). As a young girl, Judy Ruprecht dreamt of flying like a bird. It wasn't until she saw a glider plane soaring over an open field that she realized that while she couldn't be a bird, she could at least imitate one. Ruprecht's first encounter with a glider was the catalyst for a lifetime of "soaring." Now, with more than 40 years of experience as a glider pilot, she is able to read the landscape to find warm air, letting her glide for extended periods of time.Tune into Wisconsin Life to take a trip in a glider and learn how Ruprecht's passion keeps her soaring. This episode of Wisconsin Life will also feature other stories from across the state, including a stargazer who built his own planetarium, and a hula hooper whose technique is on fire … literally. Wisconsin Life is a partnership project of Wisconsin Public Television and Wisconsin Public Radio.
