These stories include that of hula hooper Sarah Sparkles in the new episode premiering 8 p.m. Monday, July 21 on Wisconsin Public Television (WPT). Sarah Sparkles loves hula hooping … and fire. She combines both elements in a fiery sport. Sparkles' hooping technique is impeccable, but she wasn't always so experienced. In fact, the first time she tried hula hooping, she couldn't keep it up. Yet, after a week of constant practice, she was hooked. Today, she teaches hooping in Madison and performs in fiery shows that light up the night.Tune into Wisconsin Life to see why Sparkles' technique really is on fire. This episode of Wisconsin Life will also feature other stories from across the state, including a stargazer who built his own planetarium, and a Milwaukee-based gospel group that has been performing together for 50 years.Wisconsin Life is a partnership project of Wisconsin Public Television and Wisconsin Public Radio.
