A Little Bit of Luck Celebration Picnic: I made a Celebration Chocolate Cake, 12 Cheese, Chive and Bacon Savory Scones, Pork Sausage Puff Pastry Rolls (Pastry from scratch), 12 fruit and vanilla custard tarts, and 6 broccoli, leek and cheddar cheese mini quiches and 6 bacon, chives and gruyere cheese mini quiches. I used various recipes and modified them using WI products when I could.
What was your favorite thing about The Great Wisconsin Baking challenge overall (whether you participated in one or all challenges)? What did you learn from this final challenge? What are you most proud of when it comes to your bake?
My favorite thing about the Baking Challenge was I enjoyed making so many different things which were absolutely delicious. I learned from the final challenge that I could make a celebration picnic. I kept my theme on the mini side because I like to try so many different foods and a small taste will make me happy.I was most proud that my baking skills were recognized especially on the front page of the Eau Claire Leader Telegram where I could promote WPT.
Did you incorporate three local ingredients into your Final creation? Tell us about your Wisconsin twist!
I incorporated more than three local ingredients. I went to the Farmers Market on Sat. I bought broccoli, leeks, pork sausage, bacon and cheese. I also bought WI products such as butter, eggs, whipping cream, cream cheese and whole milk.
How did you do?
Absolutely lovely.
