Beefy Potosi Pithivier, Green and Gold Fondant Fancies and Maple Bourbon Chiffon Cake

What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!

I was surprised that I actually found time to participate in all 3 challenges even with school starting this week! I also found that I do not have patience or time for small cakes! Go Big is my motto!

How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?

For the Beefy Potosi Pithiviers I utilized a beer that we stumbled upon during an episode of another PBS Fav – Wisconsin Foodie! Kyle introduced us to the Potosi Brewing Company and a delicious beer called Snake Hollow IPA. I used that to cook my beef and vegetables. For the fondant fancies it's all about the decoration, boasting the good old Green and Gold of the Green Bay Packers! Then I revisited a favorite Wisconsin Flavor of maple syrup and J. Henry & Sons Bourbon. I topped the Chiffon Cake with candied maple syrup and it truly was a wonderful dessert to end this summer of baking!
