Cherry Pie A La Mode. I made my favorite Martha Stewart pate brisee crust recipe and filled it with Door County cherries. I topped my pie with a scoop of homemade cherry ice cream.
Was your pie underbaked, overbaked or just right? What was your favorite part of the process?
My pie was just right. The richness of the cherry ice cream complemented the slightly tart cherry pie perfectly. It was fun to try a new ice cream recipe.
How did you add a Wisconsin touch to your flavors or decoration?
I used butter in my pie crust, Door County cherries in pie filling and ice cream, Penzey’s almond extract in my pie filling and Sassy Cow whipping cream and milk in my ice cream.
