"Light as a Lemon" Raspberry Lemon Cake. This is a lemon chiffon cake topped with raspberries and homemade whipped cream. The cake is wonderfully light and delicious.
What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!
Week 10 – The previous nine weeks were an immense help in developing my baking skills, especially week 9. Making the macarons taught me so much about working with egg whites and piping, so this week, I didn't feel daunted by the bake at all. Even more exciting, this was the first time I didn't need to go to the store to buy something for my bake! I just stepped into the kitchen late Sunday afternoon and went for it.
How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?
My Wisconsin twist is my favorite thing about WI which is when summer starts turning into fall with the wonderful afternoons spent in the slowly-waning sun on our deck with my wife, cats and a glass of raspberry lemonade. Today, after enjoying just that, I went in and whipped up this cake; it was the perfect ending to a great weekend.
