Sweet Summer Swiss Roll. I’m 12 and really want to be on cooking shows so I try to practice when I can. Using Mary Berry’s Swiss Roll recipe from her cookbook, I made strawberry jam from strawberries I picked earlier this summer and then I added some cucumber zest to make it really summery. After rolling, I dusted it with powdered sugar and garnished it with mint leaves.
What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!
I added cucumber zest to the strawberry jam.
How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?
Many of my ingredients were locally sourced and farm grown in Wisconsin.
