Would you describe yourself as a rogue baker, or do you strictly adhere to the recipe?
When baking something for the first time, I usually adhere to the recipe. This recipe called for golden syrup, so I made that from scratch (which I hadn't done before!) using sugar, water, and a lemon slice. My only deviation from the official recipe was the choice of molds.
Tell us about how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.
Instead of domes, I used owl molds as a nod to Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary in Green Bay. They care for thousands of orphaned and injured animals each year, including owls and other birds of prey.
