At 9 p.m. Friday, May 4, Director's Cut Host Charles Monroe-Kane interviews Pete Schwaba, director of "The Godfather of Green Bay," and actor Lance Barber. In the film, Joe Keegan, a struggling stand-up comedian, faces the audition of a lifetime, a chance to perform on "The Tonight Show." He must leave the big city and travel to rural Pine Lake, Wis., to win over the talent scout and his toughest audience yet. At 9 p.m. Friday, May 11, Director's Cut features an interview with filmmaker Trevor Velin and burro racer Roger Pedretti about the film "Haulin' Ass." The film about pack burro racing follows three men in their quests to take the Triple Crown while overcoming their own mental and physical obstacles. At 9 p.m. Friday, May 18, Monroe-Kane interviews Nicholas Langholff and Darren Burrows about the Driftless Film Festival, the southwestern Wisconsin regional film festival that brings independent films from around the world to historic theatres in the Driftless Area. Immediately following, WPT will air "Lovely By Surprise," a stunning offbeat film featured at the festival in which a writer attempting to finish her first novel seeks the wisdom of her mentor and ex-lover in hopes of overcoming a case of writer's block. WPT will offer an encore of "Lovely By Surprise" at 9:25 p.m. Friday, May 18. At 9 p.m. Friday, May 25, Monroe-Kane's guest is Frank G. Caruso. His film, "This Is My Sister," depicts a time when nearly all babies born with developmental disabilities were institutionalized and showcases parents Earl and Marion Fischer's example of unconditional love as taught to their three daughters.
