Independent Filmmakers and Their Films Featured on WPT's "Director's Cut" Programs

At 10 p.m. Friday, May 3, Director's Cut Guest Host Doug Gordon interviews John Pata and Adam Bartlett about their film "Dead Weight." The film's protagonist, Charlie Russell, travels the wilderness in the aftermath of an apocalyptic viral outbreak searching for his girlfriend. At 10 p.m.  Friday, May 10, Mike Scholtz discusses his documentary, "Wild Bill's Run," with Director's Cut Guest Host Pete Schwaba. The true story of Wild Bill Cooper's snowmobile ride from Minnesota to Moscow is part Arctic adventure and part crime caper. At 10 p.m. Friday, May 17 Matt Osterman, director of "Ghost From the Machine," joins Director's Cut Guest Host John Urban to discuss his film about a guilt-ridden young man who is raising his younger brother after the death of their parents. He plunges himself into the supernatural and invents a machine intended to be a conduit to the other side. At 10 p.m. Friday, May 24, Director's Cut Guest Host Pete Schwaba interviews Karin Hayes, director of "We're Not Broke." The film tells the story U.S. corporations that have hidden more than a trillion dollars from the government and how frustrated citizens vow to make the corporations pay their fair share.
