This summer, Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) will film Madeline Island Chamber Music, including three concerts at The Clubhouse in La Pointe on Madeline Island. Tickets are now available for the live concerts, which will later air on WPT as part of an hour-long program on Madeline Island Chamber Music. Filming will also include student interviews and an informal concert at Bell Street Gallery on Madeline Island.
On Friday, June 29, 2018 at 8 p.m., Brooklyn Rider will perform in concert. String quartet Brooklyn Rider offers an eclectic repertoire that continues to attract legions of fans and draw rave reviews from classical, world and rock critics alike. This concert will include the world premiere of a newly-commissioned work by New York-based Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, violinist and vocalist Caroline Shaw.
And on Saturday, June 30 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., two Young Artist Concerts will feature student string quartets performing movements from their assigned repertoire. Exclusively on Saturday, WPT will offer members of the community free tours of the television production truck from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
To purchase tickets and learn more about the concerts, visit the Madeline Island Chamber Music website at MICM.org. Tickets for Brooklyn Rider are $35; tickets for the Young Artist Concerts are $5 at the door.
