PBS Wisconsin’s University Place will be recording “Freedom Seekers: Declaring Independence from Slavery during the American Revolution,” a presentation by Professor Gloria McCahon Whiting, E. Gordon Fox Associate Professor of History, University of Wisconsin-Madison.

This free event is presented by the UW­­–Madison History Club in partnership with PBS Wisconsin’s University Place.

The recording will be held in the Wisconsin Historical Society Auditorium, 816 State Street, Madison, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to the presentation recording from 5-6 p.m., a poster exhibition and complimentary food and beverages will be available from 4-5 p.m.
