Milwaukee hip-hop pioneer Twan Mack left an indelible mark on Wisconsin’s music scene — from his early days as a founding member of Kali Tribe, the first Milwaukee hip-hop group to appear on Black Entertainment Television (BET), to touring with icons like Arrested Development.

Just months before his passing Nov. 8, 2024, at age 54, Mack brought his signature “adult contemporary hip-hop” sound to the Mile of Music festival in Appleton, performing with DJ Swadetrackz in a powerful set he described as offering “mental food” to his audience.

That extended performance, titled “Swade and Antoine Intro,” is now available to stream on the free PBS app and at pbswisconsin.org/mileofmusic as part of PBS Wisconsin’s collection of more than 30 extended sets from the 2024 festival for its upcoming Mile of Music documentary premiering 8 p.m. Monday, June 23.

The concert documentary takes viewers inside the Mile of Music festival, a unique celebration of both up-and-coming and acclaimed musicians from Wisconsin and beyond.
