200 artists. 30+ venues. Four days. Endless stories and memories. One mile in the heart of Appleton.

ABOUT

Four days. 200 artists. More than 30 venues. This concert documentary explores how Appleton’s “Mile of Music” transforms a mile of College Avenue into a pop-up celebration of musical discovery and independent talent.

Live performances and artist interviews provide a front-row seat to this vibrant community music festival, where the energy is palpable as you walk down the street from venue to venue. The film captures downtown Appleton’s transformation into a walkable music experience, showcasing the festival’s mission to help audiences discover emerging musicians from Wisconsin and beyond.

The concert documentary explores the festival’s diverse settings — from intimate listening rooms to energetic public spaces — through the eyes of performers like Christopher Gold, Illiterate Light, Abby Posner, Ben Mulwana and more. Artists describe a festival with an atmosphere of music discovery, with audiences that show up with curiosity and care for every song they hear, and a small town feel that gives it a unique reputation among performers and attendees alike.

This concert documentary reveals the authentic connections formed when a community embraces original music, illustrating why musicians consider the festival as a place they “can’t wait to come back” to.
