‘Profe’ Screening at PBS Wisconsin

Join PBS Wisconsin and Latinos Organizing for Understanding and Development (LOUD) for a special screening of Profe, a powerful film from Twin Cities PBS that documents a groundbreaking Latine-led educational revolution in Minnesota. This one-hour film centers the intimate stories of three Latina women and their trailblazing efforts to empower Latine students in an educational experience designed specifically for them.

After the film, stay for a talkback with the director of Profe, Sergio Mata’u Rapu, for an exclusive opportunity to learn more about the making of the documentary! Following the talkback, LOUD will present the LOUD Educational Leadership Awards to local educators Bryan Grau, Dr. Armando Ibarra, and Silvia Gomez de Soriano.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the film will start at 7 p.m. The film will be screened with Spanish captions.

How to find Studio A:
PBS Wisconsin’s Studios are located inside Vilas Communication Hall at 821 University Avenue (Madison, WI).

Look for the PBS Wisconsin sign near the corner where University Avenue meets Park Street and right next to the building’s loading dock. Once you see the PBS banner near the stairs, you’ll want to take the stairs under the sign to enter the 2nd floor of the building.

Follow the hallway until you reach a set of double glass doors that will take you into our studio lobby! You should see a flat-screen TV with the PBS Wisconsin logo. Make a right, then walk around the corner and down the hallway to find Studio A!

Accessible entrance: Once you locate the PBS Wisconsin sign – please use the ramp to the left to go up to the 3rd-floor entrance. Proceed past the glass doors to the elevators and take the elevator down to the 2nd floor. From there, please walk down the hall, and you will see the studio entrance doors to the left.
