Alyssa Tsagong, Chief Curiosity Officer at PBS Wisconsin, oversees the education work of the station, developing resources, events, partnerships and collaborations to ignite curiosity in learners of all ages. Alyssa’s team takes a participatory and evaluative approach to production for pre-school and K-12 audiences, engaging educators and students in the concepts, production and distribution of work that has an impact.

Alyssa joined WPT in 2013 and is a current member of the PBS Children’s Media and Education Leadership Committee, the National Educational Telecommunications (NETA) Education Council, the KM Explore Governance Board (Kettle Moraine School District) and the Waukesha Community Art Project Advisory Board.

Prior to her work at PBS Wisconsin, Alyssa taught photography, English, handwork and early learning parent-child classes in Milwaukee and Waukesha area schools and in Kathmandu, Nepal. She also worked at Ten Chimneys Foundation, transforming the docent-training course into a course in decorative arts, local history and theater available for college credit through a partnership with UW-Waukesha.

A Wisconsin native, Alyssa has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Anthropology from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She and her husband Dhondup have two sons. Her family enjoys hiking, music and picking as many strawberries as possible in early summer to eat out of the freezer all year long.
